No to Violence’s Statewide Coordinator is collaborating with Domestic Violence Victoria to host two Community of Practice (COP) meetings a week to support the mental health and AOD Specialist Family Violence Advisors during COVID-19.
The COPs, facilitated by No to Violence and Domestic Violence Victoria, regularly feature guests from Family Safety Victoria and DHHS to provide government and sector updates relevant to the mental health and AOD workforces. Topics of discussion include:
- The presentation of family violence in the mental health and AOD workforces during COVID-19
- Practice at the intersection of family violence, mental health and AOD
- Cross-sector collaboration, and
- Embedding MARAM.
The COP offers a space for advisors to share updates, new learning, case studies and resources from across the state. No to Violence now offers advisors a fortnightly group supervision with an external supervisor to address the increased demand on advisors during COVID-19.
The Statewide Coordinators are working closely with government across key projects, to ensure advisors have access to timely resources and information for the mental health and AOD workforces to respond to the increased severity of family violence during COVID-19.
