Many team members from the Men’s Referral Service successfully adapted to providing phone counselling services while working from home.
Demand for service has remained strong since the announcement of the pandemic with self-referral calls in to the service spiking at various stages. Management is having ongoing discussions with funding bodies as we look to offer new services to men during COVID -19.
Areas of development include:
- A brief intervention service to users during periods when the broader family violence sector is modifying program provision because of remote working arrangements, and
- Employing more telephone counsellors to handle service demand and ways in which men can be accommodated if/when they are removed from their place of residence because of a family violence incident.
If you, or someone you know, has experience in telephone counselling, please look at the job description, here.
